- Research: Editing ....(Miss Begum)-

Focus.... Editing The speed of the movie is all done by a editing software for example, ‘Adobe After effects’ this is the software that makes the film that you are watching slow down when something is dropping like a glass they would slow it down so that it brings more tension in the film. When the shot speeds up that generally means that there is someone run from something E.g. a super hero called flash his super power is super speed so in the shot wear he is going to use it they will speed up the scene.

In the opening scene to ‘ Spider-man’ the clip had 7 edits this makes the intro to the film more exacting for example, it looks like the super hero is extra powerful like, like Spider-man shot his Webb and the producer of the film slowed the clip down to make him look like he is invisibly to all the other characters. After 30 minutes into the film Spider-man gets attack in the middle of the night by the villain green goblin, Spider-man shoots a Webb at his enemy trapping him from using his weapons.

During the fighting scene in Spiderman it has a very big part in editing for example, if you slow down a part of the film where he is specking during the fight then you wont really be able to understand because it sounds like he is slurring his words. This can be a down fall to the movie because if you do the slowing down for too long it could have a big effect on the audience.

Speed…Editing The effect it could have on the audience is very big because if the clip is slowed down for too long it will be hard for us to understand and the movie would get a negative review. (genres?) Action, Thriller and horror Fast editing is good but too much of it in a film can spoil the hole movie because if they use him run every time the hero gets into trouble it would of as the hero’s scared to fight the villain (genres?) ?) Action, Thriller and horror I think that if the film is only editing at some parts that would build more tension to me and the audience that watch the film.

General… Trailers… Straight cut example When one shot moves into another shot in an edit and it does not confuse the audience Fade to black example When one shot goes/moves into another and there is a black filter in between.

Editing is and why it is important? I think editing is important because if the film that I was watching didn't have any editing I would be very bored editing makes the film look and feel better to watch. For Example if was watching Spider-man and the clips that was use didn't have any editing and they were all the raw clips I would be rather upset because you would get that feel that you normally get when you watch a super hero fight his villain.

Causing a response from the audience? The type of editing that would get a good reaction out of the audience would be if you Spider-man shot out his Webb and you could see at the start that its slowly moving and after about 30 seconds it speed up again so the super hero's can re-enter the fight. Also the camera angle has a big effect on the editing because if you don't get the right angle you might not be able to editing that part if it don’t come out good then it will have a bad effect of the viewers .

Research of editing helped you? The research I have done has helped me a lot because it has made me change my mind about the shots I'm going to use during my opening scene for example, to much editing can ruing the hole scene that I have to do. The shot I'm going to use is the same as the are using in Spider-man it make it more better because you can see that the editing in the film is done profusely.
